Resources to find other Ruby Gloom fans

Someone contacted me on DeviantArt, asking for resources to find other Ruby Gloom fans.

They even created a forum for it themselves. This seems like a good idea. I'll post links to the places I know and others can contribute cool places to find Gloom Fans and artwork.

I also see Ruby Gloom thread's occasionally pop up on 4chan's /co/ board. I usually try to send an email to RubyGloom Google Group.

Ruby Gloom - Season 4

There is a petition out to ask for a fourth season of Ruby Gloom. Will we ever get more Iris specific episodes? Will there be a return of more of Misery's relatives? Will Skullboy ever settle on what he's meant to do? (Okay, proably not on that last one.)

Sign the petition

I'm not too hopeful, but you gotta look on the bright side for these sort of things. Maybe the company will listen.

Here below is the message from the petition:
There were many fans, and still many fans still at heart who love this show. I feel like the show didn't have it's time to shine bright enough and that it was shut down before it could be an amazing show.

We want to have the show back. It's such an original show and warmed the hearts of many. There isn't many shows like this particular one, and we want to prove to them that we still care, to at least attempt to bring back the cartoon that fans loved!

So, we will try our best to bring back this cancelled show.. We love each character, we relate to them. We feel what they do. We need this show back desperately.

Save Ruby Gloom!
A show that made people look on the bright side.

Ruby Gloom DVDs available on Amazon

Just a quick post for everyone. Netflix no longer has Ruby Gloom, but now the series is available on Amazon, both on DVD and on Amazon Prime (to my understanding).

Ruby Gloom on iTunes (for Canada only)

Quick bit of news: I've known this for a while now but in case viewers don't know -- I have GOOD news and BAD news.

GOOD NEWS: Ruby Gloom is available on iTunes for purchase. You can buy the whole series. It is in beautiful 720p/1080p HD quality. Widescreen too!

BAD NEWS: You can only buy the files if you are using a Canadian credit card or some other form of Canadian credentials. Don't ask me why. Yes, this sucks. This really really sucks. But it's true.

Ruby Gloom on Netflix

Quick bit of news: A blog viewer informed me that Ruby Gloom is available on Netflix! (Thanks for the tip!) This was news to me.

Too bad none of the episodes are in Widescreen. But at least they are all the correct speed and length. (If you grabbed any DVDs from Australia, they are speeded up by 5% or so, and it makes their voices sound squeaky.)

How to Help Save Ruby Gloom

According to the studio, there are no plans to make more Ruby Gloom cartoon episodes. But there can be more, if we the fans show them we want it!

Buying the brand and showing online fan support are the best ways to help. The studio *is* watching Ruby Gloom on facebook and brand sales, and they will make more specials/episodes if they see that Ruby Gloom is truly popularity.

Buy the DVDs! There are various DVD releases. Region 1 DVDs can be found on the Canadian Amazon website, http://www.amazon.ca. (Canadian Amazon does ship to the USA.) Every NEW purchase will help to support the show. Purchasing used copies doesn't give them anything though! Only buy new copies! Purchasing other merchandise helps too.

Be sure to join the official Ruby Gloom facebook group (coming soon, according the studio) and show your love of the cartoon. Fan involvement helps too, and the studios will be watching for it! So join existing Ruby Gloom fan facebook groups, like this one for example. Or make your own fan group. You can also show their support by promoting the Ruby Gloom show and brand at any other popular online community you can think of.

Feel like sending an email to let them know you love the show? Go to http://www.ytv.com/about/contact.asp, choose to send it to “YTV.com” with the subject “Show”, enter your email address and tell them. Say how much you enjoy Ruby Gloom and that you'd love to see all new episodes. And of course, be nice to them about it.

While your at it, write an email to the webmaster, webmaster@rubygloomtv.com letting him/her know you love the show as well, and ask for any other advice he/she may have to help show support for the show.

We the fans can make a difference, and we can have more Ruby Gloom. Let's get to it!

A Word about DVDs on Amazon
Buyers should be aware that the only place to buy English DVDs of Ruby Gloom is currently www.amazon.ca.

You can find non-English DVDs on normal www.amazon.com, but only buy those if you mean to. Currently there are Japanese and German DVDs listed there.
